Things to do in March
What marvelous spring weather – hopefully we won’t pay for it with a cold and snowy March.
Whatever the weather, Joiner’s Mews is cosy and comfortable – just right for a break in the beautiful Lake District.
In case March does come in with a roar, here are a couple of things to do.
Hosted at The Villa, Levens, LA8 8EA – just 5 minutes’ drive from Joiner’s Mews – an Exclusive Shopping Experience on Saturday 9 March 10am-4pm, free admission. Carefully selected to showcase local women in business. A delightful cornucopia of products and services … all small businesses… all run by women. From handmade to the more exotically sourced, from jewellery to soft furnishings with artists and unique clothes, it’s a day of enjoyment.
Later in the month – Friday 15 March to Sunday 17 March – 9am-5pm (Fri & Sat) and 9am-4pm (Sun) is the ever popular Cumbria Life Home & Garden Show, now in its fifth year. Held at the Rheged Centre, Penrith. Although this is 40 miles from Joiner’s Mews, it only takes 41 minutes because most of the journey is on the M6. By the way, the motorway this far north is so quiet you could be forgiven for thinking you were driving either 40 years ago or on a French motorway.
Showcasing the best in interiors, home, garden, landscaping and building design, there are 80 exhibitors of which 40% are new to the show this year. There are talks and masterclasses, the latter offer visitors a unique opportunity to learn directly from the experts; these paid-for sessions must be booked prior to the show.
Advance tickets are £5.00 and £7.00 on the day, (under 16s are free) A weekend pass costs £10.
