Lake District Calm before the Storm?
Windermere’s southern tip was photographed a few days ago (November 2019) – so the Lake District is not always wet and windy, although I have to say it was cold and there was snow on the tops! A dog walker’s (and dog’s) heaven.
Joiner’s Mews is a delightful 20 minute drive from this lovely Lake District landmark and is one of our favourite destinations.
Ulswater is another lake that is a must when visiting the Lake District. Again, a fantastic journey from Joiner’s Mews over the Kirkstone Pass brings you to this lovely area – this journey takes about 50 minutes but is so worth it.
Grasmere, some 40 minutes drive from Joiner’s Mews, is another place which is a must. The latter part of the journey takes you through beautiful countryside – bordering the magnificent Helvellyn. The village is set a little way from the lake but is charming and is well worth a visit. It is home to the famous Grasmere Ginger Bread shop.
Dog friendly destinations offering cosy cafes for morning coffee or afternoon tea and interesting shops to be explored – what’s not to like?. Then you can return to your cosy home of a few days – dog friendly Joiner’s Mews.
