Baby, it’s Cold Outside
It was jolly cold this morning – minus 2.5C here in the Lake District but a winter wonderland with the early morning sun shining on the frost covered lawn.
It’s nice to have a break at any time but at this time of the year you need to be sure that your holiday cottage will be warm and cosy.
Joiner’s Mews is just that with its lovely Morso wood burning stove. We’ve now added cosy bathrobes and a hot water bottle to be sure no-one is left out in the cold.
This is the time of year for Christmas Markets; there are many in this neck of the woods and I’ve just been to one of the best. Cumbria Life magazine’s “Christmas at Rheged” held at the Rheged Centre near Penrith on Saturday and Sunday 16 and 17 November, the £5.00 entrance fee was excellent value but also included is a glass of Prosecco (or a soft drink if you prefer), under 16s are free. There are masterclasses, talks and demonstrations and over 50 carefully curated stalls selling interesting and unique gifts. Carol singing choirs and live music added to the festive atmosphere.
Too late to visit this year’s Christmas Market but make a note in your diary to book a visit to the beautiful Lake District next year and stay at cosy Joiner’s Mews.
